Welcome

Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus

As we celebrate the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, we want to remember the community of Sacred Heart Parish from its beginning to the present day.  The Sacred Heart Parish community was first established in Edson in 1912 and over the last 110 years, the community has grown and changed in many ways.

Church records show home baptisms, performed by traveling pastors, as early as 1911.  The first church building was built around 1920 on the current site.  This building was replaced by a larger structure in 1953 under the direction of the Redemptorists and the parish community.  The present church was completed in the year 2000 and blessed by Archbishop Smith.

As we thank Jesus for his gift on His Most Sacred Heart on this our parish feast day, we also want to thank the bishops, pastors, pastoral assistants, CWL, Knights of Columbus, volunteers and all parishioners who have built this community through Eucharistic celebrations, prayer, hard work and material contributions.

We offer special prayers to the bishops, pastors and parishioners who have gone before us in thanksgiving for their many contributions to the founding, building and supporting the community of Sacred Heart Parish, Edson.

May the Sacred Heart of Jesus bless all of us!

You are invited to join us at Sacred Heart Parish in Edson. We are a welcoming parish and we invite you to come join us for Eucharistic celebrations and to enjoy participating in our vibrant parish communities, whether you live here or are simply passing through. It doesn’t matter who you are, we are here for you.

“We, the People of God, exist to serve the Lord, His Church, Sacred Heart Parish and the Edson community through prayer, consultation, ministry and evangelization to invigorate and challenge the laity in their daily lives to use their talents in service to one another; thus, our search for ways in which to grow in Christian brotherhood/sisterhood will be fulfilled.”

If we can help you in any way, please join us or contact us.
